Still Dog Wild

Lily continues with her obsession of doggies, she use to just call them doggies but now it is .."Ooh Puppy." Yesterday afternoon we went to the grocery store and since we usually go there earlier in the week I am not use to a big crowd; I said, "I swear everyone and there dog is here today." Lily looked back at me and said, "ooh puppy!" and began looking around for one, talk about obsession.

The largest dog I have ever seen, I have seen great danes but he was ginormous.. a great dane mastiff mix.

Past the Point of No Return

So when ever I download pictures onto my computer I always see the picture from a post I made about lemon cookies in April..... I start to salivate but try to focus. Today I could not handle it any longer I worked out a bit more than usual this week I deserve a treat so I made them again, meaning at least 36 or so depending on size. And now at 10pm as I slam down a couple more I realize why I have not made them since April, and I also recall that earlier today as I was making them and slamming them down before they even cooled completely, giving my tongue quite a sizzle..... the song from Phantom of the Opera was playing very clear in my head...( Past the point of no return -no backward glances: the games we've played till now are at an end . . .Past all thought of "if" or "when" -no use resisting: abandon thought,and let the dream descend . . .) Also the first verses (You have come here in pursuit of your deepest urge,in pursuit of that wish,which till now has been silent, silent . . .I have brought you,that our passions may fuse and merge -in your mind you've already succumbed to me dropped all defences completely succumbed to me -now you are here with me:no second thoughts,you've decided, decided . . .) I think I may need to name them Phantom cookies now and ban them. Also as I send the rest away to work with Nathan tomorrow and definitely erase that picture from my folder I can only hope that this song will come to mind with more irresistible desserts because I think it helped ....it is kinda creepy maybe I had a little to much sun today.

Spoiled Much??

Don't worry that shake was not all for her. Occasionally we have a wee bit of ice cream ...okay usually every afternoon almost, when we have it in the freezer that is. (It's to bad the cartons are smaller now and cost the same lamos.) Lily started saying please and thank you for ice cream tonight, it was darn cute. P.S. She is not dressed in this picture because it was after a day of getting wet and muddy without spare clothes. I guess the ice cream is doing nothing for those thighs.

Stuff and Fluff

Our Visit:

Lily and I have planned a trip home on the 20th of June to the 29th of June. Please let me know if you want to spend time with us, so I can plan on you otherwise we will just try to see everyone we can besides our main reasons of coming to town. ( Help out sister in law/see the new Dillier boy, spend time with my Dad and Jen who have not had such a wonderful month, show Lily off to moms/Grandma's and family, and have a superb garage sale.

My Cell Phone Deal:

All of those who know me well, know that I am not a cell phone/phone talker.

The truth is that when someone calls me not to be rude but if it is not my husband and sometimes even if it is nothing is as important as my daughter ( keeping her safe when we are out and giving her my love and attention.) I have gotten better about calling people back promptly though. Also along with not answering the phone if I don't call back promptly or I have not called for a while it is because I guess I am a little old fashioned. I think that it is rude to talk to someone when they do not have almost your full attention, along with being on the phone when you are paying for something, engaging in other conversations along with your phone conversation, watching television, and especially taking your phone into a restroom or taking your phone into a church at all!! etc. Sometimes yes I realize Mom's need to multi task and that may include the phone. I just felt the need to say this though and I apologize if you think I am being rude when you can't get a hold of me, but I am sure if it is important we will touch base before the world ends and please give a semi new mom some time to call you back and please do still call me and leave a message when I don't pick up.

Pizza:

All about the Pizza Tonight, she ate a little more than me and I decided to stop her so she would not get sick.... she must be deprived again. (P.S. Yes she has blue on though she is still confused for a boy wearing pink)

Tubba Times

I have been hesitant with bubbles since little girls can have certain reactions, so this is Lily's first time with them. I think she must have been deprived.

Bubble packs are back in (she thought the suds meant she was suppose to wash her body/face since that is what we do with the soap suds mommy makes.)

Lily decided that her puppy needed a ride but though she was very determined (she tried it off and on all day) sadly the little people tractor was.. well too little.

The Del

On Sunday afternoon after a wonderful parking spot right on to the beach towards The Del. Nathan and I realized how spoiled we were to be here, also Nathan questioned why we ever stay at home.

Our Week

Lily's new thing that began today is to wear this bucket on her head as a hat, she keeps it on as she goes around the house doing her thing. Hey at least maybe it will protect her head from getting a bump or something, but I think we will keep it an at home thing. We received this bucket in a kids meal at the Wild Animal Park they had a free admission day on Wednesday. I forgot the camera so this and a cup are all we have to show for it. We played in a water area there, saw a herd of elephants get mad at one of the elephants and make trumpet noises. (Lily cried to leave that exhibit.) Played in a little learning center, pet the deer in the petting zoo, saw a Siberian tiger, flamingos, almost got bitten by a goose, and I had a huge workout with the exhibits being so far from each other and up and down steep steep hills.

We also went to the beach on Thursday since it is warming up so much lately. Sadly I will never again bring my sunscreen, but continually spray Lily's sunscreen on her and forget about myself. We met two girls a few months older than Lily and played with them in the sand and splashing in the water. It was so much fun and we want to go again but I am still mending.

Today we also met some new friends and Mommies and were invited to a friends one year old B-day party. I wonder what we should do tomorrow if hopefully my burn is better. We may go to Balboa Park there is loads to do there. ( Puppet show theater, miniature railroad, park carousel,etc.)

Gaila L. Dillier

My Grandmother died today I do not have a picture of her to show you, hopefully I can add one. I realize this may be a depressing thing to write about but the truth is it is actually a happy event. Grandma Dillier was ready to go a while ago but stuck around, she is at peace now.

I will keep all of the happy memories we shared deep in my heart.

Memories a little girl like I can truly be so spoiled to have with my Grandmother, and memories that I know will stay with me and be an example for how I will be with my grandchildren down the road. ....Summer days spent with her letting me pick her roses, swinging in the back yard under the long bean tree, playing trouble, cards ( jinn rummy), and crossword games, eating raisin brand before bed time, being so gentle with getting out the tangles in my hair at bath time, taking me into her room and showing me her flapper like dresses and heels that she still had......winter times spent waking up most Christmas mornings in her house blocked off in the hallway having to wait behind a door that led to the living room, and getting homemade stuffed animals and dolls from her for Christmas and birthdays, eating chocolates and fresh nuts off of her coffee table, receiving money/checks, and don't forget cordial cherries every Christmas away from her home. I will always remember and love my Grandma Dillier luckily though now there is a Grandma Dillier in training... (Grandma Jen Dillier) and I am sure My Grandma Gaila L. Jen's Favorite Things

If you are like me you rarely have a spare hand let alone a set of them to ground fresh pepper and or salt on a lovely salad like the one below. These one handers are even more convenient because they are also magnets easy access. They have them at Target and I am sure other places alike.

This is definitely a mommy thing to do. Goldfish croutons, I am not really a big crouton fan (they are too seasoned and too big sometimes) but I do like the little crunch, and flavor a goldfish can bring to a salad. They come in whole wheat now tasting just as good as the original, and other flavors like parmesan, dang you bet I am going to throw them on my salad yummAE! Besides I already have them for Lily anyways. Try it out.

Mr. Cactus

Don't worry this was just given to Lily as we walked into get our groceries the day after Cinco de Mayo. If you could picture it tied to our shopping cart as we shopped trying not to knock stuff over or knock out people. I know we at least blocked a lot of customers vision for their own groceries. I guess Lily smacking Mr. Cactus as we went along was not helpful either.

Reason to miss colder climates.

This has been living with us since it jumped out of drawer at Nathan last week. Nathan said, "We killed a lot of these on the mish." Then further explains as a guy would in gory detail how they took care of them. Anyways I have never seen one in real life before and I have been terrified all this time knowing it would pop up at me eventually. Luckily it was drowning in a tupperware in the sink, and I had gloves on. I slapped the lid on and I am happy it is not as big as my imagination made it out to be. I hope I can give everyone else chills also by this picture. We will call it Pfeiffer since it is - What Lies Beneath - Hey at least it is kinda more clean now. Good excuse to not wash the dishes or to bleach the entire kitchen?

Why do some children decide that pooping is private? I know that she did not learn it from me since she never lets me do any private things.

Lily Mei

My sweet husband has been letting me sleep in, since he is more of a morning person, and so he can get some special daddy daughter time in.
Lily usually ends up pushing open the door where I am sleeping and coming in to wake me. At first I think O-bother I have to wake up now until I remember that once she is on the bed with me she gives me morning kisses, and cuddles. I feel so spoiled to have such a sweetie. Lily has started to look at a book from Gram Chips that has the alphabet, and sing her abc's of course it begins good and trails off into jibberish, but it works. She also reads all of her books in her jibberish, talks on the phone, talks to us, talks to strangers, talks to objects. Her favorite is when something strange happens to say, "Ooh ?" The expression on her face and how she says it is dang cute. She walks well and is very proud of herself, when she walks or does something she is proud of, she angles her head in a prissy confident way. She also is taller than I thought for her age, the other day at the park she was the height of the 18month, and two year olds. I guess she will grow past me in no time.

Tribute to Griz

Pictures by: Griz's Momma Jennifer Lynn W. D.(flicker spot mrsjwd9) It is hard to write the words, or try to put it lightly that Griz is gone from us. It definitely pulls so deep at my heart strings to think of our times together, and yet I know I will always have them to look back on. Remembering a dog that was so amazing, so kind, so gentle, so dopey, so strong, so mannered, and so loving like no other dog I have ever known. There is no one that met Griz that did not think of him as their own.

Mans best friend to the T.

Well I wanted to share with you some little things about Griz that made him Griz. His name Griz is because, well he looked like a Grizzly Bear when he came to us, (large and still having his winter coat of mane) He looked like he could be a big bad bear but was exactly the opposite, a curious sweet giant of a Labrador.

His life's pleasures included,

Going hunting (best hunting dog ever) and to the lakes, hiding balls and other objects from his brother (Ozzy the dog) in his mouth, finding secret ways to wander off to explore and hang out with other animals, and families then pretending that he was not running away when you would find him, cuddling up on you on the couch, bed, or anywhere thinking of himself as a lot smaller than he really was, crossing his front legs like he should be given his pipe, robe, and slippers (so sophisticated), getting Ozzy in trouble and pretending to be the good one, dragging you on walks, and definitely making a large embarrassing poop along the way, biting at and running after jet sprinklers, there are many other things also that made Griz, Griz, and amazing, like looking after children, he could not harm a fly and he has attempted to.

( he would follow Lily and I around and lay in front of us when ever we sat down protecting us from the rambunctious dogs etc.)

All and all he will be very missed. I love him and want to send all my love to those missing him also at this time.

Thank you Griz for choosing to share your wonderful spirit and be in our lives and so many others.

So many wonderful times with you never to be forgotten.

My Feelings on Sharks

I want every one to know that our family is going to spend more time on the beach then in the water.

But I also want every one to know that I am more concerned about the rip current , and sting rays then about great white sharks. Any one who decides to swim in someone elses habitat takes a risk for themselves. I think that we (humans) have, and constantly will take this risk too lightly. NO one can protect you from the ocean once you are in it, that is a choice you make and a consequence that you have responsibility for and that goes for every action you take in life.
I am not the slightest more worried of a shark attack (not attack) etc. then I was before the shark thought a human for food. I won't say that I will not be thinking of sharks at the beach though.

A human has a much more fragile life then a lot of species, I just can't help but say, "What did you expect." Maybe if we got a net, a gate, or a fence that signals anything coming in not human and made a specific area of the ocean to the beach ours then there would be more to expect. Nemo, and Dora should have known better too.

Remote Control Phone?

She loves wearing necklaces, bracelets, and talking on the phone, what ever electronic device the phone is at the time that is. She also loves babies, and baby dolls. She rocks them kisses them and pats their back. What a girly girl.

Wheely Bug Fun

New Area Top 5 #1

#1- Definetly would be, No Dry Elbows- With the humidity Lily and I don't have to lotion up as much as we use to. Also what is nice is you don't still feel wet out of the shower, I guess it is humid but only just enough.

#2- So Childish - This is a childrens boutique that is about a block away. Not only does it have super cute stuff, it is a place designed with a big play area in the middle. They have story time, music, yoga, sing play, and craft classes. They also have a mommy night set up for the mothers to go to different places together outside of the boutique.

#3- The Dog Park - Sometimes Lily would much rather have a play date with dogs instead of children, and the dog park is just a few blocks away. We can watch them smell, eat grass, attack each other, and poop... it is great.

#4- Gay Grandpa Jake from the Big Kitchen- Lily and I received a free brownie from him and he tells me about everything good in the area, since he has lived here for 20 years. He especially knows where to eat and since he is great chef himself I trust his suggestions.

#5- The Weather- People could complain that it is too cold or too hot. But I enjoy it. On the windy chill days which is rarely below 60, I feel like you can smell the ocean in the air when you are in land and cuddle in a warm blanket. Then on the warm rarely above 90 days you just go to the ocean and enjoy the warm water. We have had a difficult time figuring out what jammies to put Lily in at night though.
