Nathan and I had a wonderful anniversary. He surprised me by taking me out to one of a new favorite restaurants of ours, called White Chocolate Grill. Amazing service to top the wonderful, romantic atmosphere and spectacular food. I enjoyed some mahi, while he had some prime rib with those succulent carrots, never go without getting some. We then went and caught a flick that went pretty late ...Nathan trying to get me to think the date was over after the show. But he took me to stay at a hotel (luckily I came prepared) to bad the romantic had to leave us for a moment when we heard something from the room next to us.... (drown them out with our TV who can top that ...so.o.o fake)
Well in other news this week... Last week we found a scorpion by Lily's window which is also by..Lily's bed. ( I never scream I always just drop some choice words) So we prepared (move everything in the middle of the room and for me get freaky because I have to clean out all the spaces they would be for them to take care of the evil things of satan) the pest control to come set off a fog this Monday. Well after I tore my entire apartment apart, it turns out my in laws were coming earlier...(tear, tear for the lack of a place to lay down after a long trip) luckily we have more of a yeah whatever relationship and are closer than most relationships are to in laws and I let it go quickly. We had a lovely stay with them and of course wanted it to last forever longer...and of course Lily was beside herself in heaven to have the pleasure of entertaining more adults that love her. To make a long story longer after the fog, when we returned from our anniversary retreat, (last night) Lily almost walked into a scorpion that was on the ground. I tried to kill it by slamming the fattest hard bound book we own on it, no luck it climbed into a shirt that was on the floor and I slammed the book on it and jumped on the book. Then I took off to Walmart to purchase a black light (they scorpions glow so well apparently) Nathan (Scorpion King he has killed almost 10 now) got home before us as I planned. That creature was still alive after all the book slamming and stomping!!!! So he killed it off. And I made him black light the entire place before we came in, along with putting cinnamon everywhere (some one said that worked) and finally went to bed. So today after Nathan dropping a bomb at the leasing office they took me around to see some different apartments in our complex. Still don't know what we are going to do, damn things scorpions they are the worst, I loath them with all my being.
Before this guy was slammed by a book (he is a smaller one and can not control his venom as well ouch)

They say the smaller scorpions (particularly ones with the smallest pinchers) are the most dangerous. So bigger is better where scorpions are concerned.
One nice thing about living where the winters are so cold is we get a whole three months with virtually no bugs. I'd take the snow over scorpions ANY DAY!
Sounds like you had a nice anniversary (and maybe the couple next door were just...um....excited about being out of the house without kids. Funner to not worry of little ears hearing you)
I am glad to hear you say you love White Chocolate Grill...I LOVE IT! We should go sometime! I am glad that you had a great anniversary.
On to scorpion king...we refer ours to Mr. and Mrs. Scorpion...but I hope this bomb works. If it doesn't basic pest control spray worked for us. However, they like to hide too.
ill take the scorpion over our bugs anyday!!! and we have scorpions to over here.. so we should have a contest..who goes the longest without seeing one..you down? if you win i will mail you a stuffed scorpion animal...hehe
love ya
scorpians? scary! Also, funny story: the people above wake me up once a week at about 3 in the morning. It only lasts about 30 seconds, and is soooo fake as well. it seriously sounds like she is in my own room screaming. I got sick of it and took some socks and a note up to their apartment with a note that says "gag her." I know, totally inappropriate but it has helped! haha. I hope you find a new apartment soon :)
Happy Anniversary, Kids!
Lots of love,
Jessie
Happy Anniversary!
Oh my I would not be able to sleep with the scorpions! MOVE NOW!!!
How do you stand it. I can't even kill a spider without shivering and screaming in agony! Gives me the jeebies!
Happy late anniversary. Scorpions are awful. When I kill them I use a shovel to chop off their heads. We caught one once and put it in a cup with water then froze it. 2 months later we took it out of the freeze and let it thaw in the sun, IT CRAWLED AWAY!! THey are awful evil little things.
