Being a Woman Take 3

Concerned, loving Husband.....
I again have been feeling nauseous today. (Oh so so yucky I wish I could just throw up and be fine)
We recently had a little gas leak on the deck, which a guy from the gas company came and fixed on Monday. Anyways Nathan called the apartment office to have someone come over to check and make sure that we did not have a leak in the apartment because I was feeling nauseous.
Well moments after Nathan's call I received a call from the manager at the office telling me that I needed to get Lily and evacuate our apartment, and come to the front office.
Of course I was a bit shaken by this thought, considering I have felt the need to throw up at any time. And being a kind person, when you may throw up on someones face as you speak to them, along with really just wanting to lay down can prove difficult.
Alas I got up right in time to grab Lily's clothes and put them on her before someone was at the door. I let them in and we headed to the apartment office.
On our way to the office we saw a fire truck with men jumping out talking to each other, "What was it apartment 2040 (our apartment), yeah I think it is this way."
Lily and I pretended it was not our apartment the firemen spoke of as we walked into the office with residents sitting on the outside benches whispering I am sure something like...what has happened, etc.
We went in sat on the couches as the concerned woman manager approached us. "Are you alright?" "Yeah just have been a little nauseous the past few days (that and I want to throw up all over this nice pricey white sofa right now)." "Your not pregnant are you?" "No, I have an IUD that is 99.9% affective." Oh all right I just thought that maybe since you have been nauseous and...."No I'm not."
Well after a little longer a firefighter came in and told everyone now gathered in the room where Lily and I were, that everything checked out fine and asked me himself how I felt and I lied and said I am doing a little better, thank you. Well as the crowd continued to discuss I just got up grabbed Lily and said, "So we are good to go back then." After the yes, we left and outside again at the benches was another fireman chatting with the residents out there still from before.
Not having invisibility powers to go along with my other powers kinda bites the big one sometimes.
The fireman outside asked if I was alright, again I lied and he said, "You just call us if you do not feel well again OK." I said OK...and shouted that I was going to the doctor so I should be fine...thanks. Well after feeling that I had to share quite a bit of personal info with complete strangers, I guess all and all it was nice of the apartments to be safe and not sorry and that the fireman were just doing there job. But honestly again, can I just throw up..feel better and call this a bug from Satan himself.
P.S. Now that Lily and I are settled in, I just received another call from the apartment manager telling me that the gas company was on their way over so they can double check. I agreed to it but surely I will throw up all over their faces for real this time.

Being a Woman Take 2

continue from Take 1 below-
So Lily and I walked to the spiffy store a block or so away. We went in with the stroller and naturally Lily wanted to get out and start to take things off the shelves, so she can be a little shopper too. But of course for some reason with her very small hands grabbing for one object seems to take on the appearance that some fictional character like Hagrid (the gentle giant from Harry Potter) came across looking for the same item. Sadly sometimes I pretend that he (Hagrid) really did, and I hurry, grab what I need and escape with Lily into a new isle.
Anyways I picked up a pink box (first response eggo preggo knowledge etc. I am sure that I can not be preggo I just am freaked out so I am taking one anyways kinda thing) Lily decided that she was quite fond of it, the pink box. In fact she threw a wailing, screaming, crying fit when I was trying to purchase it.... yes it did gather some attention. And she also in addition wanted to carry it all the way home out of the bag as we walked. I remember someone saying as I walked out of the store to Lily, " You may like that now but not later...? I guess they were saying that she would not like not having all the attention if she gets an additional sibling, but I felt ill and more nauseous thinking of her taking a test some day.
Anyways no I do not have a mutated baby living inside me (of course I am NOT pregnant 99.9% not)....if you were curious. Perhaps the nausea in the morning is caused by floating on air at night.(air mattress mania) Well I hope the reason I am nauseas is not too big..... hey one down though huh.
Well I think I will continue to post these Being a woman/mom posts though. The crazy life's we live and all.

Being a Woman Take 1

First of all I have said this to friends before and I will say it now. Why the hello, do woman have the responsibility for birth control. "Hi I am a man my sperm are shooting out constantly ready to make a baby and there are only a few forms of birth control made for me." But for us the woman who ovulates ....what once a month ...we better take something that has hormones when yes we ,woman already have enough of those.
I will just say that I am irritated/frustrated because I have an IUD and I feel like it is definitely not natural. I also have been feeling like my eggo is preggo again lately... (nausea, smelling with k9 like skills etc.)
But when something is 99.9% affective, if you are like me you start to think perhaps it is 99.9% affective because maybe 50% of the time when your eggo is preggo it just kills off what is there.
And then I get a little freaked, what if I figure out I am pregnant and the baby has been made into a mutant by the time I do find out from the birth control.
And then of course I always start to sing ...Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ...turtle in a half shell ..TURTLE POWER!!! I love that those turtles happen to be teenagers or that sweet saga/song would not work.
Well I will keep you posted or blogged or what ever.

Scrum diddly umptious Steak Salad by Me

I wanted to share another nummy recipe and I am hoping that my iron deficient prego sister in law will try it out.

Grocery List:
Steak strips (possibly fajita style cut already) about a pound
1 heart romaine
BBQ sauce
Italian Seasoning
1 Cucumber
Cherry tomatoes (optional)
1 Purple onion
1 Red Pepper
Good blue cheese dressing (optional only if you hate it)

Put steak in a pan and cook (cut into thin strips if not fajita style already). Slice into strips onion and red pepper, add to steak to saute when steak is pretty well cooked.
Keep heat at medium and cover, stir occasionally. Before onion and red pepper are completely sauteed add in some Italian seasoning about a tbs or more.
Cover a bit more and when vegetables are cooked squeeze on about 1/2 cup BBQ sauce ( make it a cup for those non blue cheese peoples) Cover again and let saute about 5 minutes....at low heat.
While sauteing cut cucumber how you like no skin. Prepare lettuce (clean and cut or torn) put onto serving plates or in large serving bowls, add cucumber and cherry tomatoes on top. Spoon steak mixture on top and then blue cheese dressing (go easy you don't need too much dressing.) Also you can put blue cheese crumbles on in addition if you like blue cheese.

Sorry no picture but trust me this is really yummy... try it.

My little bunny

What Lily decided to do (and what I let her do, considering any mess is alright if it involves intake of a vegetable.) while I was preparing dinner last night.

Parks with water (Most likely because it is freaking hot.)

I seem excited, but Daddy doesn't realize I will make him hold me close the entire time.

Daddy and Doggies

The u-tube doggies Lily and Wells, short for Wellington (her doggie) They are together often.

I feel Dad is getting Lily obsessed with doggies. Watching them on U-tube, going to pet shops, at the park, even just a doggie barking out the window is bound to get thrills of excitement from them both. I know they are secretly plotting against my, no dog at home just visit doggies policy. (They will not win.)
